Hidden Wonders of Grenada is an interdisciplinary conservation storytelling initiative designed to foster connections between Grenadians and the island’s most misunderstood wildlife, including reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and terrestrial invertebrates. Anchored by an accessible guidebook and strengthened through hands-on rainforest field experiences, the project blends art, science, and community participation to foster curiosity, empathy, and environmental stewardship. Through culturally grounded narratives, vivid illustrations, and interactive components such as species lists, digital resources, and community-science opportunities, the guidebook provides a foundation for reshaping perceptions of “unloved” species—especially the critically endangered Grenada frog (Pristimantis euphronides). Complementary field excursions allow students to observe these animals in their natural habitats, addressing long-standing gaps in awareness while nurturing a conservation ethic rooted in pride and personal connection. Supported by partnerships with local educators, social scientists, conservation organizations, and student leaders, the project represents a holistic, scalable model for building conservation capacity and strengthening biodiversity awareness across Grenada.
